Events around the Pacific NW for Fair Trade Month

October is Fair Trade Month and we are gearing up for a number of fair trade events here in the Pacific Northwest. Here is a list of some of the up-coming events and ways you can get involved:

October 23rd 9am-5:30pm

Supporting Local Independent Cooperatives Everywhere (SLICE)
Seattle Central Community College
Join WFTC member groups Central Co-op, Community to Community, and panelist WFTC’s Kristen Beifus for a day focused on the energy of co-ops. Get skills, get connected and more importantly get excited about the power of co-ops and how we all have a role to play.

Northwest Chocolate Festival
Seattle Center, NW Rooms
1st and Republican,
Join WFTC and Fair Trade Seattle for lively discussions on fair trade chocolate and policy at the NW Chocolate Festival. The festival will stimulate your taste buds with dance, music, chocolate tasting from around the world, and cooking classes with great local chefs, chocolatiers, and candymakers. There will be demos in chocolate, advanced and home chef classes, bean-to-bar workshops, origin slideshows, educational lectures, tasting and Keynote Panels featuring voices from the chocolate world. A portion of the proceeds will go to WFTC member Seattle Tilth as well as PCC Farmland Trust.

SweatFree Communities Summit In Olympia, WA!
SweatFree NW is proudly hosting the 7th Annual SweatFree Communities Summit!! Our Building on years of sweatfree organizing in Olympia and this summer’s sweatfree policy victory in Seattle, SweatFree Now Sweatfree Northwest is taking the campaign to the state! The National SweatFree Summit will include workshops for new organizers and experienced campaigners alike. Register today!
